The PERFECT portable controller – works with iOS!
Excellent gaming experience! I’m not a huge gamer, but I travel a lot and I like to have various options for entertainment. I was looking for something portable, quiet, and discreet, and this checks all the boxes.Side note: I’m using it with an ipad pro 13″ m4, and it works perfectly! It’s not listed in the description, but this controller IS compatible with iOS systems; it even says so on the unit’s box and in the instruction manual that comes with it.SizeSmaller than it looks in the listing! I have a mini purse for travel, and it fits perfectly in there with my phone, keys, cards, and passport.* It’s thinner than my key fob! I’m not sure how someone with larger hands might fare with this little controller, but I have small hands, so for me, it’s a perfect fit.*(picture included)Sensory ExperienceThe plastic feels a bit on the cheap side, but that’s to be expected at this price point, and honestly doesn’t affect the controller’s performance at all. The buttons and joystick feel, depress, and operate almost exactly like a switch controller’s, and the clicking sound of each component is comparable as well. You could easily use this in a library and it wouldn’t disturb anyone, but you still get enough feedback when pressing buttons to know that they’ve been clicked.Another huge plus: I bought 2 controllers before this one (I was wary that the description didn’t mention iOS support), and they both had obnoxiously bright lights that stayed on for the duration of use. This one has a very small light that stays on, but it’s completely unnoticeable during play, even in a dark environment.Gaming ExperienceFlawless. Honestly, nothing more to say! No lag, no weird button jumps or movement quirks. The sensitivity on the joysticks is great too; i.e., very slight rolling of the stick registers as slight movement in-game, etc.I’m not sure if it’s listed in the description, but the controller includes a “turbo button” feature, so if you’re playing FPS, for example, you won’t have to keep pressing a button for rapid fire; that nifty button will do it for you. You can even set it to manual or auto. (I don’t personally use or need that feature, but it’s still a cool bonus!)ConnectivityStays connected very well, and resumes connection very well. I don’t have to unpair and re-pair every time I want to use it.Honestly, at this price point, I got more than I could have asked for. Awesome product!

Good quality for portability
I’ve been using this controller for over 1.5 years and it has held up well. The joysticks are joy-con sized joysticks which aren’t amazing but are good for portability. Same for the ergonomics: it isn’t ergonomic, but is portable and good quality. One time the controller stopped working completely. It wouldn’t charge and none of the buttons did anything. However, I solved this by finding a button combination online that fully reset the controller and it went back to working normally. The vibration and motion controls seem fine. The buttons and battery life are fine (I’ve never noticed anything bad about them).

4.5/5 Retro-inspired gamepad
This controller is a retro-inspired gamepad. While it lacks in ergonomics compared to modern Xbox/PS controllers, its performance still stands up. The light weight and face button/stick locations make the 8bitDo Lite 2 is as comfortable to hold, if not more so, than the original retro controllers (NES, Genesis, SNES, etc) that inspire its design.I have had this controller for a month, and experience no issues so far with durability or battery life. So far my experience matches the description provided in the listing. The buttons have a crisper “click” than I was expecting, but everything works well. I mostly use it for lightweight gaming on my iPad. I have yet to try it paired with a Nintendo switch. The controller is lightweight, the indicator lights on it are not distractingly bright, and it is probably on the smallest end of what I would consider a “comfortable” controller. The ergonomics aren’t great compared to a modern PS/Xbox controller, but for a retro-inspired gamepad I’d grade the ergonomics at 8/10.

A good middle ground of small and useful
Since this controller is so unique, it’s a little hard to explain why I like it so much. For those who are already familiar with 8bitdo this controller might look pretty similar to their Zero 2 controller. I have pretty average hand size, and even then the Zero 2 was incredibly small, but the fact that it was so portable and gave me enough buttons to play everything on the 16 bit generation was worth it. It was a little hard to play anything else, and was looking for an upgrade. That’s where the Lite 2 comes in. If this controller just had two joysticks it would already be a large improvement, but with the dpad and extra two triggers, this controller is effectively fully loaded for any game. With that said, you do lose a handful of features if you compare this with, say, 8bitdo’s Pro 2 controller. With the Pro 2, you get analog triggers, a more ergonomic feel and larger size for comfort, and recently, they’ve even added hall effect sensors to the joysticks, meaning that they use magnets instead of accelerometers, meaning they are more accurate and are less prone to drifting. Perhaps the question of whether or not you would get the Lite 2 over the Pro 2 is what you want to use it for. If you need a small controller to take on the road without giving up any features for a standard controller, then this is incredibly useful. If you’re looking for a controller to be your default one to use on pc or switch, then you should check what else 8bitdo has.

Perfect for a pocket
In my pocket every day. Makes gaming and emulation on my phone something I find myself doing instead of playing my PC. The battery last long enough that I’ve never had it die on me. It’s not comfortable for long sessions, but I don’t use it for that. The buttons are nice and clicky without feeling spongey.

Worth the money
So far so so good. It was easy to use and pair. You just hold the home button to power on. And hold the sync button to pair. It auto pairs with the switch and my android phone the rest I cant speak for. Super cool and feels solid and well made with a good button feel

this is very flat and easy to pack in a bag. it connects great to my phone and you can connect it to a switch or other handheld. its not the most comfortable but does the job. 8bitdo makes great products and this one is no exception, great quality build and does what you need. its nice to have a smaller controller with dual joy sticks

I purchased this controller and another for my kids. (7&4) Previously they had only played on joycons and I saw a dramatic improvement. They both very much enjoy their controllers and that they are personalized in colour. It was very easy to pair with the switch. Have seen other reviews say battery life isn’t great but haven’t seen the same but fairly new. Will update this review if that becomes an issue. But so far really happy with the design and materials it is made from. It’s didn’t feel cheaply made

I tried the 8bitdo pro but it’s too large and heavy for me to be comfortable. This isn’t advertised as being usable with Windows but it works fine with Steam on “D” mode and there is other software that will allow you to interface with other Win PC games unofficially. However the buttons are quite loose and feel kind of cheap, like they might pop out of place after enough use or if it was dropped a lot. The USB-C charging port is very tight and also feels like it might break after a while. There is no visual indication of battery level either so without official Windows support there’s no way to know when the battery is going to run out. Fortunately it’s quite long lasting and I keep it off in between uses. After 135 hrs of Elden Ring its still working fine but occasionally if there are too many Bluetooth devices connected to the computer there is lag from interference, I don’t think that’s the controllers fault but worth knowing. If the person using it likes to play with dirty hands or are tough on controllers this probably won’t last long. But there aren’t a lot of options for wireless controllers for small hands out there right now so at least it’s not super expensive (35 CAD).

My daughter loves it, perfect size for her tiny hands, able to play on many devices, 8bitdo has always been held in high regards by myselfNow it just needs hall effect sticks and maybe ever so slightly bigger trigger buttons. Also I know this is kind of not a popular opinion but, circle pads. Like the 3ds had would make the absolute perfect mobile controller. But I feel like so many people hate them they’re no longer being out on devices 🤷 but I digress a great controller

I’ve purchased 8-bit controller’s before and they’re always been amazing quality. This time is no different. I bought this controller to use for when I’m travelling and don’t want to pack a bulky regular controller with my switch or laptop. This one works perfectly and was exactly what I was looking for. I haven’t tried connecting it with my phone for mobile games, but the manual says it has the capabilities to do so. I can’t imagine you could be too rough with this controller though as it is a bit more delicate than a regular one. So playing anything with intense gameplay that might make you press really hard on the stick or buttons might not be a good idea. But for a travel controller it works really good.It even came with a little enamel pin which was really cool! :3
