    No more microwaved lunches!
I tend to eat a lot of freezer meals at work. But I don’t like using the microwave. I used to heat some freezer meals in the conventional oven but I really don’t like having to spend so much time in the communal office kitchen – preheating the oven, putting the food in (sometimes takes prep like covering it with foil or putting on an ovensafe dish, etc,) checking on it, sometimes having to stir or flip something over, retrieving the food then finally skulking with my food smells past everyone to get back to my desk to eat it! I was so excited to try this little crockpot food warmer at work. It has been a success. I plug it in near my desk and when it’s ready I take a few steps over to unplug it and I’m ready to dig in.The first day I didn’t give it enough time to heat up completely so now I know that frozen meals with meat need about 4 hours. The second try was pretty good, a chicken entree with rice – I put it in the crock as soon as I got to work and I had to break the meal up in its frozen state to fit everything into the cooker but I don’t mind that at all. After around 4 hours it was perfectly heated. There was a little bit of rice that got crunchy and stuck to the cooker but it wasn’t much. So the third try, I had similar meal but this time I purposefully placed the sauce and meat part of the entree on the bottom and then the rice on top. I think my previous attempt I had put the rice on the bottom. So putting the rice on top of the meat so it gets “steamed” seemed to work really well, I didn’t get any extra crunchy bits like before. The rice was actually a bit mushy but hey, it was hot and edible. Today’s entree was really easy to put in the crock – I don’t know if it made any difference that it was vegetarian and it had a few minutes to thaw before I remembered to put it in the crock, but it crumbled apart a lot easier than the others so I didn’t have to crack a big frozen block apart to fit everything in there! Also today’s meal turned out perfectly, the rice was fluffy and steamed and not too mushy even though it was plugged in over 4 hours, and I didn’t have to pay any particular attention to how the food was stacked in there. My vegetable biryani adventure is pictured here with my review. It’s only been a few days and I am super pleased with the results so far! I hope to try doing stuff with it other than tossing a freezer meal in. It’s processed food and not the best for you so hopefully I will figure out some healthier options, like steaming vegetables or something. I wish there was a cookbook or idea book for this type of crock warmer! I’ll be using it a lot. It’s just so convenient to heat food up right in my office space.

Holds A LOT and heats quickly – awesome for work!
I purchased this for use at work. It is very compact looking and at first I thought the portion size would be small. But it holds two or more times the amount of a large dinner bowl (6+ large ladels full of soup/chili). Very sufficient for a meal at work and could even serve two people. It comes with 4 “parts” – the exterior heater with cord, exterior lid, interior metal core, interior flexible lid. The exterior heater does not come apart from the cord – it is just like a traditional slow cooker, but the other three parts can be put in a dishwasher. The device has a red indicator light on the side to show that it is plugged in and turned on. There is no on/off switch. When it is plugged in, it is on. When unplugged, it is off. I purchased an extension cord that has a foot pedal/large red on/off button so that I can keep that portion plugged in at work, and easily leave the base unit of the cooker plugged in at work and turned off, or just unplug it closer to my desk instead of reaching behind furniture to the wall outlet.I’ve read that the interior lid was hard to remove and it was the first time we used it, but for some reason it became easier afterward. We’ve also noticed that the interior lid expands and contracts with heat/refrigeration a little bit. Be careful when you remove the interior lid, just in case you experience it really holding tight. The unit heats a full container of food relatively quickly, sometimes under an hour, depending on the food. We’ve also let it heat all morning and the food was not over-cooked at a late lunch time. It’s an awesome way to ensure you have a hot meal ready to go when you have a moment to eat at a busy job.I realized it’d also be great for dips. It holds enough to sufficiently serve hot dip to a group of people. It would probably be excessive for heating dip for one person, but if you’re only heating a small amount I suppose you could just heat it for less time and unplug it before the contents over-cook.People at work seem to get a kick out of this thing. It is entertaining to see a mini crock pot cooking at someone’s desk. I have yet to actually “cook” a meal from raw ingredients, rather I use it to reheat refrigerated leftovers, but it definitely gets hot enough to cook a small batch from scratch (maybe 1/4 the ingredients that would go into a traditional sized crock pot). It would make a great gift for anyone who cooks for themselves at home and has a busy job that doesn’t allow them much time for lunch. It’d be an entertaining but useful white elephant gift. It would probably work well in a dorm too… slow cooked ramen? Overall I’m very happy with the purchase, use it several times a week, and will be buying more as fun gifts.

This is a great option! Honestly the perfect size to be a carry on for any on the go meal. It isn’t bulky but still holds a good portion. It heats up very well, cleaning has been easy and it’s reliable. I use it every day and have zero complaints.I did see many other options for heated lunch box. This one however, was a brand I trusted! I saw how many great reviews it had and I agree with them 100%

Everyone at work has the bigger rectangular style ones and swears by them. I found this one for a decent price and caved and bought it because I was sick of sandwiches and crackers and cheese. I figured because it was Croc pot brand it would be better than the random ones shipping from China. We have no microwaves at work anymore due to Covid so this was a lifesaver for switching up the lunches. I plug it in an hour to an hour and a half before my lunch and when I’m read to eat I have nice hot food. Not burnt, not gross…perfect hot food! Fits a large amount of food in it as well. It may look smaller but it holds A LOT!! Totally worth the money! I would recommend it to anyone!

This is a lunch saver. We were not allowed to use the staff microwave when we first came back to school so lunches were cold and boring. Now I can heat up anything in less than an hour! My son is working in a smaller crane these days that has no room for a toaster oven… but this is the perfect size for the small quarters. We both love our lunchtime crock pots. Food is heated through without micro waves! Thank you.
