    Great for the solo camper/hiker
Son loves it and that is all that matters! A bit more $$ than I was wanting to spend, so hoping it is worth it in the long run. We are hoping he will take it out soon and give it a “live trial” for camping, hiking and back country hunting in the Montana and Colorado mountains. He says it will definitely be more comfortable than a “cheaper” hammock. Weight is a little more then he was expecting which throws off his pack weight. Unsure of the durability at this time, hoping it lasts awhile. Assembly was ok, a bit awkward but maybe once he gets more used to it and comes up with what works best for him, it will get easier and fast. It is a tent, ultimately, so warmth is not an “option” but he has a great light weight, deep freeze bag so should be good to go. LOVES the under storage, however, we have excessive bear counts near us, so stringing up is 1st line of avoidance and non-edible storage underneath.

    Great tent!
Weighing 3.2 pounds, it has an amazing functionality, and you can sleep anywhere. No need defined flat ground.Assembly takes about 10 minutes and once you get good at. It takes around 5, although on the pricier side, it’s well worth the money and has good value. As I’ve taken this across the world camped with it in New Zealand and Australia, and it never ripped held up beautifully. The weight was a little heavy for backpacking, but I was able to do it with four months on the trail, so it wasn’t too bad.

    Comfortable tent
Great product, material quality is excellent, very comfortable I’m 5’9″ 200lbs muscular build, I had plenty of space it felt sturdy good wind and water protection. I did have a problem keeping it balanced, it had a tendency to lean to the side I got in from. The set up is not straight forward, I attempted it at night but had to quit and use another tent as the set up can get complicated if it’s your first time setting it up. I had my 50lb dog in the tent with me, I don’t recommend that since it did get crowded 😅 with him but the hammock tent held up fine.

    Great product and company
Great product. Almost sleeps flat when hanging, super comfy, and set up time is less than 10 mins once you get the hang of it. The company is fantastic! First night using it I entered the wrong way and flipped it, causing the rain flap to tear. I couldn’t find a replacement and emailed the company. Within 3 days they replied and are sending me a replacement rain flap for free! Couldn’t be more happy with this purchase.

Not as great as it appears
It takes a few times setting it up to get the process down. Lots of adjustments are often necessary to get a level and stable. Getting in and out and finding a comfortable sleep position is a challenge. The mosquito mesh is not well attached to the canvas. Mine tore pretty easily second trip out. If you’re thinking, this is a floating cot, it isn’t. It takes some getting used to and the material quality makes for a moderate quality build. Otherwise, it’s an ingenious design.

    Great little hammock tent
It’s a great hammock tent, it lays pretty flat and is comfortable. I’m 6′ and 220lbs and I fit in it great, its super light when packed up and has its own little carry case. The only issue is found is I tried to hang it on a traditional hammock frame and it was a little bit to small and so half way through the night I put it on the ground like a normal tent and it still stayed up

Definitely not worth the money. Flips very easily despite the strapping.
Purchased end of March , finally had a chance to use the thing recently. Past my return window, bummer for sure.Terrible experience. Pretty much the worse hammock camping ever.I’ve hammock camped for years, using similar camping style hammocks. I was excited to try this out and even used additional corner tie downs to keep it from being so unstable.. experiences from other “lay flat” versions suggested that better safe then flipped over. The set up is easy enough. Like most hammocks, it goes up in a matter of minutes. Just getting it “level” takes a little extra. That’s were the positives end.Laying in the hammock when it’s empty, it’s ok. Once you get a sleeping bag and pillow in, all bets off. Even with the corners tied down at angles to keep stability, as soon as I tried to slide over on my side to get into the sleeping bag, over I went. First time ever I’ve flipped in a hammock. Pulled the stakes right out of the ground it spun so quick.I had all the tree straps positioned correctly, pulled tight and as noted extra corner tie downs. Nothing worked.I’m 5’9, 155lbs. Not even pushing the “limits” of what it should take.Suppose I’m off to try the Haven brand next. Expensive but seems to be the only real lay flat option that appears stable.I would not purchase this product again nor recommend to anyone.I have other NightCat products that I’ve enjoyed. This is definitely not a winner.Disappointed for sure as it’s very sharp looking. And I can attest that the screen netting is quite tough as I was laying and standing on it after it flipped.Pass on this for sure.

    Very good hammock tent
This is a great hammock/tent, I’ve been looking at for a couple years and after watching every video and review that I could before I finally ordered one. I was impressed before I ordered one, I spent more than I originally wanted to but very happy I ordered one.I did have a concern about how much stress was being put on the hammock when I seen how much tension in the videos that was being put on the stabilizing straps, no videos addressed this, not even from the company. I was very impressed after getting my hands on one, so if this is a concern of anyone else considering ordering one, not to worry, the tension straps connect to the same nylon strap material that is sewn into the hammock around its entire perimeter, so there is so extreme stress on the hammock material itself.I love the versatility of this hammock/tent whether you have only one tree or no trees at all, weather proof shelter is not a worry or a concern. It is very adaptable as the attached photos show.I slept like a baby the first night out, sleeping on my side very comfortably. The only thing I need to do now is find someone to buy a tent and a few other hammocks that I’ll no longer use.

I have friends who told me about using hammock tents but I wasn’t thrilled by the idea of having sway-back all night trying to sleep. Then I found this. I’ve slept in this roughly 30 nights by now and I sing its praises to anyone who will listen. Everyone who sees it is enthralled by it and I love to show it off and explain it to people. It packs up small enough that it fits in the saddle bag of my motorcycle or I bring it in my pack on canoe trips. It takes a bit of time to set up and tear down, mostly just ensuring everything fits nicely into the bag, and it’s a bit of a learning curve to get a consistent setup. There are ways to ensure it feels more stable. I actually bought and added two additional straps that I can daisy-chain onto the included lower straps so I can a) put it between trees that are further apart and b) do a full wrap of each tree – this provides greater stability. I’m 6’4″ and 250lbs and the tent supports me well. The gear channel below the tent is brilliant, keeps everything off the ground and dry and it holds a lot. It has a ring inside that you can hang your lamp from if you’re reading. It’s stable and easy to get in and out of for me. The fly keeps it dry but it could use a bit better of a design to accommodate non-ideal set-ups. If the top straps are on too great of an upward angle or the trees are close together, you can’t get the fly taught enough. The support bars that make it lay-flat are showing signs of permanent curvature but I’m not concerned about failure. I put a thin inflatable mattress pad in it under my sleeping bag which provides good insulation. I wake up in the morning feeling like I just slept in my bed. You can sleep on your back or either side…no stomach sleeping though. Love, love, love this tent. Highly recommended.

I have used my Nightcat Flatlay Hammock numerous times through the 2023 and 2024 camping seasons, and I definitely like it.I’m 6’2″, 275lbs, and this thing supports me very well, even with a 75lb Pitty onboard, it feels very secure.I have purchased the underquilt for winter camping, and an offbrand tarp and poles just for extra rain projection. As it comes, I have not gotten wet, yet.I would suggest: Once one circles the tree with the lower straps, cross them over, so left strap goes to right side, right strap goes to left side. it definitely adds extra rigidity to prevent/eliminate any feelings of “flipping over” or “falling out”.Fantastic sleep system.WARNING: like all tents, it is NOT flame proof, so embers from camp fires will make holes, Gorilla Tape and Super Glue are your best friends here. (Other reason for the extra tarping)I recommend this product.

It is far better than a hammock but it’s really hard to have actually stable, our (dog friend & me) second night was far better than the first because I really yanked on the side pulls. The instructions lack slightly as I’m still not sure I’m setting right. Also was way harder to find trees than I thought! (On a heavily forested hike) Would be worth carrying extra rope as a lot of the trees were so big I couldn’t loop the provided straps around them. Also think a ratchet strap would help, so we shall see how the next hike goes!! Definitely need some sort of mat or no slip matt to prevent the sleeping bag from sliding around all night. And a pillow. The handles inside were very helpful for repositioning throughout the night. Also helpful that I could shake the tent to scare the squirrels & chipmunks away from our stuff in the night, so no damage. The lower shelf was so great. Just be mindful of condensation.

I’ve had a chance to field test this a few times, and I have no complaints. It’s very well put together and comes with everything you need. The only thing I had an issue with was the tension on the stability straps, but that was on the first use. I now know to tighten them much more. Everything about this product is amazing. It’s not just a hammock, it’s a bivouac off the ground! The zippers are a great quality, the hammock is roomy, comfortable and has places to hang things (hooks at either end) and store things (interior pockets). And if that wasn’t enough, the added storage below the hammock will accommodate all your bigger items. I had my pack, tool, fishing rod and tackle box in it, and had room for more. I wish it had a compartment to throw a mat or other such thing in, as it does get cold fast, but it’s not a dealbreaker. I now use a smaller down filled bag, with a heftier down filled bag on top, and that is ample warmth. I say this as a resident of Northern Canada. Coldest night in it so far was 4degrees Celsius, and I was toasty. I can’t recommend this highly enough!
