Great for small batches
Great little fryer, I use this to fry chicken, I only make 4 pieces and put 2 in at a time. Obviously if you had a bigger family and needed to make multiple pieces this wouldn’t be convenient. Easy to use just plug it in, wait 15 min for oil to heat up. Chicken cooked perfectly each time (leg and wing took 12mins) . Some deep fryers you need so many quarts of oil and when you’re frying a small amount it just seems like such a waste so this was perfect for me.

Great Little Fryer That Gets the Job Done
I’ve used the Presto FryDaddy several times now and it’s been surprisingly efficient for its size. It heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature which is perfect for small batches of fries, chicken tenders, or even homemade donuts. The oil usage is minimal compared to a full-size fryer and the nonstick surface makes cleanup much easier than I expected. It’s compact enough to store easily in a cabinet and simple to operate since there’s no temperature control to worry about. One thing to keep in mind is that it doesn’t have a lid for cooking, only a snap-on lid for storage which isn’t meant for hot oil. Also, since there’s no basket, you’ll need tongs or a slotted spoon to remove food which can be a little messy. Still, for the price and the size, it’s hard to beat the convenience and simplicity of this fryer. Definitely a solid pick for quick frying jobs without the hassle of a larger appliance.

Good for small batches
For the size, this thing works really well. You can’t expect to cook for a party of 25 from it, but for two people and occasionally using it for chicken wings and fish/french frying, it’s great for what we needed it for. It’s simple to use because there are no dials to adjust the temperature so it’s pretty much a ‘plug in and go’ type appliance.

Nice fryer works past expectations.
Purchased this small fryer just for personal use because it’s just me and my wife. It comes with a plastic scooper but I didn’t need it because I already own a metal scooper. Well to my surprise this deep fryer works so good that we ended up using it for family events. Cooked full trays of shrimp and chicken wings with no issues. Have not looked if they got a bigger fry daddy but if they do I’m definitely getting one. 5 star.

This is a good product
This is my second FryDaddy, the first one I had for many years. I do really love this product for many reasons. It heats up quickly, fries food for one or more people, and has a convenient snap on lid if you want to reuse the oil. The round design & handle both work well. Presto is a very reliable brand. Just a few things when using it, one, it does get very hot, so use the handle to move it. Also, don’t add oil beyond the fill line inside. I do recommend this item and would purchase it again.

Heart Achingly Good!
So far it’s been a delight for making tempura’s, chicken wings, fried chicken, and other lower temp fried goodies. Things like fries take a bit of time and with the lack of temp control not ideal but doable. Works best if already frozen but from fresh it take timing and leaching out the starches in cold water is ideal a few times before, colder the water the better. Tots on the other hand came out amazing but those had a moment in the oven to set and maintain form when frying.

I have been researching mini deep fryers for months. All I wanted was a small, uncomplicated fryer that didn’t require lots of oil and was easy to clean. Then I came across the Fry Daddy – the size looked perfect but it seemed like such a basic unit compared to the other more “fancy” deep fryers. For example the Fry Daddy has no temperature control dial and no wire basket. So I went to the manufacturer’s website and watched their video and learned that the temperature is perfectly controlled. The oil heats up and maintains a steady perfect temperature for deep frying. The reason there is no wire basket is that wire baskets take up area in the unit AND are very messy when removed, oil drips all over the place. That made perfect sense to me. Then I moved onto online reviews starting with America’s Test Kitchen whom I normally trust but they gave it such an awful review that I decided to read some of the comments and so many people who owned the Fry Daddy said otherwise, they were upset that ATK was recommending the fancier brands and not giving the FD credit where credit was due. I agreed, ATK can be very snobbish in their reviews. They also made fun of the plastic spoon that comes with the FD – take it from me – IT WORKS. Sure it will melt if you leave it in boiling oil! But it works just fine to remove cooked food. They also did not consider the mess factor of a wire basket and made derogatory comments about the absence of that. Next, I watched video reviews by “real” everyday people – and the more I watched the more I knew this was the fryer I wanted. The day it arrived I deep fried fresh cod in batter (homemade) and also some large shrimp. I was able to fry 3 thick pieces of fish in one batch and all 8 shrimp at once. I knew the minute I took the fish out to drain on paper towels that the fish was NOT oily! I was thrilled. This proves that the oil IS maintained at the perfect temperature for frying. The fryer uses only 4 cups of oil. You can store the oil in the unit (it comes with a plastic lid – only seal once the oil is completely cooled down) but I didn’t do that because we don’t deep fry that often. So I strained it and poured it into a clean jar to reuse another time. Cleanup was A BREEZE! A gentle wash with dish soap (not submerged of course) and dried with paper towels. The unit is non-stick which makes cleaning even easier. This small unassuming little fryer is perfect for a couple or small family. It takes up very little room and if you’re buying it in the US it is very affordable. I think it is worth every CAD$ I paid for it on Amazon.
