After eagerly awaiting the arrival of my Rubbermaid TakeAlongs Food Storage Containers, I must say I’m impressed with the set’s functionality and convenience. The variety of sizes and the secure lids make storing and transporting food a breeze. However, my excitement was dampened when I discovered that one of the bowls had a crack on upon arrival.Despite my disappointment, I still find the containers useful. But the crack worsens every time I use it, leaving me concerned about its longevity. I’m now facing the dilemma of being one short in my set, which is frustrating considering I ordered the exact number I needed.I’m left wondering if there’s a way to replace the damaged bowl to maintain the set’s integrity?Overall, while I love the functionality of the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs, the issue with the damaged bowl has certainly put a damper on my experience.

Good for storage, but bowls are a very cheap quality.
If you’re looking for bowls that simply store food in your fridge, these are good. However, functionality and durability beyond that is questionable, at best. These bowls feel very thin and although they are “microwave safe”, I would be wary to even try that. The thinness of the bowls gives the impression that these were very cheaply made with cheap components. For example, (I’ve had these less than two weeks) I had some chops and rice in one of the containers and I didn’t quite have a full grip on it and it slipped off the shelf in the lower-half of the fridge and hit the floor. That bowl cracked from one corner diagonally to the other. Now the weight of the food in the container was not heavy and the height it fell from was not more than 2-feet. I’ve had glass bowls survive in similar conditions. And as mentioned, I’d be afraid to even attempt microwaving anything in these plastic bowls, they feel like they’d melt. Now I do understand that you get what you pay for, but I expected a bit more durability to these bowls than what you end up with. If all you’re deciding on is the function to store, than these are good. Anything beyond that, find something else.
